Outside
This is our front door.
This is the view of the house yard from the county road. There is a TON of landscaping to do - someday...
The hog shed is now gone.
This big-ole barn has three rooms and is very large. We will restore it and put a new roof on in 2008.
This three-stall garage is across from the house. Right now, it houses Dacia's potting shed, the tractor, golf cart, and lawn mower. There is a loft accessible from the topside. That is where we are putting our remodeling stuff like extra doors and paneling.
The concrete corn crib is very unique. Dacia wants to keep it for its historical value. Kevin wants to clean everything up. We'll keep you posted on who wins.
The chicken house is tucked into the edge of the woods. Dacia wants chickens. Kevin says the 40+ pheasants, red-tailed hawk, and a dozen pigeons living here is enough birds. We may turn it into a green house also.
This grove of trees fills about two acres and is home to much wild life. It is like our own enchanted forest.
Kevin hauled in truckloads of sand and repaired some of this metal quonset to make an indoor riding pen for his winter horse training.
Winter view from the driveway.
Before - This is what the Tree area looked like.
After - This is now what is under the Black Hills Spruce.
In the summer of 2007, we worked a lot on the outside of our house and yard. You can see in the picture below that the bottom shutters are darker than the upstairs ones. We will finish painting all of the shutters in 2008. We put in a few flowerbeds and worked on grading the dirt around the house to keep the basement dry.
