About Me

It was on July 20, 1973, at 4:30 a.m., when I was born at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee, Iowa. My mother, Agnes J. Belew, already had previously given birth, in Marcus, Iowa, to a daughter Dawn Marie (Willems) Witzke. My sister was born on October 28, 1971.

As my sister and I were growing up, she poked, prodded, and tormented me as often as she could. For example, when we were over at our cousinís house she asked me to touch their wagon while she placed an electric worm shocker on the part we rode in. Of course, being dumb enough to believe her and my cousin Mike when they said it wouldnít hurt, I did it. My arm went numb and they got a good laugh out of it.

I graduated from Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn High School between the years of 1992 & 1993. There were unforeseen circumstances which led to my diploma showing 1992 and my transcript showing 1993.

In the spring of 1993, I began my college education at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City, Iowa. Over the course of a decade, I majored in Police Science, General Studies, and Chemistry. Even though I became educated in many subjects, I never earned a degree while attending WITCC.

In 2002, I began taking correspondence courses from The University of Iowa. Then, in the fall of 2004, I was accepted to Iowa for the 2005 spring semester as a student. While attending The University, I had problems with alcohol and missing class. On April 5, during the UNC/Illinois basketball championship game, I ended up in the hospital with a 0.25 - 0.30 BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration). I was dismissed from The University for a year and required to attend an alcohol treatment program. In January, I successfully completed the treatment program and can be reinstated as early as this fall for my one-time mandatory reinstatement. However, Iíve moved my reinstatement back until January 2007.
